

Certified Medication Technician
We are looking for a reliable CMT to care for our residents in a professional and considerate manner. You will work under the supervision of a Charge Nurse or DON. Candidates must be first and foremost qualified and compassionate. The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing diverse basic care to those who need it while remaining patient and calm. It is a demanding job but also very rewarding.
ABOUT THE POSITION
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Passes medication and gives treatments according to physician’s orders and in accordance with facility policy.

Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication using specified procedure.

Takes vital signs or observes resident to detect response to specified types of medications and prepares report or notifies designated personnel of unexpected reactions.

Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered.

Gives direct patient care, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding patients, and assisting in examinations and treatments as needed.

Attends inservice education programs, as assigned, to learn new treatments, procedures, develop skills, etc.

Reports and, when appropriate, records any changes observed in condition or behavior of residents and unusual incidents.

Must be able to follow directions, both oral and written, and work cooperatively with other staff members.

Works on skilled nursing side only.
